BORED PIERS
Bored piers are concrete piles are required on some construction projects as foundations, they are best to be used when the ground conditions are uniform. Bored piers are commonly employed as foundation piles to restrict the settlement of the structures they support, but the approach might also be utilised to construct soldier piles for absorbent walls, or retention piles, column starter piles, screw piles, ground anchors and soil nails.

- The board piers are also less expensive and can be installed more quickly.
- A wide range of attachments might be employed with the board piers. Such as an auger or a cleaning plate. A core barrel can be used in rock
- A pier’s diameter ranges from 250mm to 600mm.
- A board pier can reach a depth of 12 meters, and the diameter of the auger can range from 150mm to 1,200mm.
- These are designed to withstand high working loads, although the loads they can withstand will vary based on the ground conditions. A rock socket is sometimes required to hold a larger load. Obviously a rock socket gives greater load bearing capacity for the bored pier or concrete pile.
- In the wrong ground type and ground conditions, bored piers can collapse or cause more harm than good, it is best to get your bored piers or concrete piles engineered prior to drilling.
